The latest research from Rightmove has revealed that next month is the best time of the year to sell your home!
The New Year is a time for taking stock and assessing what we want from our homes and how we envisage the year ahead. It often sparks life changes while many people hunker down for the winter months a large number of people kick off their moving plans in the spring.
Based on competition between buyers for each available property, Rightmove has revealed that March is the month that most home movers take action and put their plans in motion making it the best time of the year to market your home for sale. The next strongest month is April followed by May.
Typically, the number of properties for sale coming to the market in March is the highest throughout the year, but because buyer demand is so high it’s also the best month to sell.
If you’re considering selling this year, we would suggest that if you can, you bring these plans forward to next month. Why? There are lots of buyers seeking good quality first or family homes that they can move into during the summer, enabling them to make the most of a new garden, enhance their access to outside space and get their children into the new school year.
Over the last five years excluding 2020 due to the pandemic, March has proven to be the month that most buyers have been look looking for a new home and making enquiries with estate agents. This then creates competition between buyers and giving sellers the chance to sell for a favourable price and quickly.
What’s more with interest rates looking set to rise, now is a great time to get a fixed rate mortgage.
