Summer is here! We hope to see plenty more sunshine in the weeks to come, allowing us all to get outside and enjoy the long days. Fee Fi Fo Fum – the famous fairy tale comes to the stage at the Eastwood Park Theatre! Cbeebie’s Patrick Lynch tells the tale of the adventurous Jack, who sells his family cow for 5 magic beans and soon finds himself in another world, high up in the clouds! With lots of fun stage props, lively music and dancing it’s a giant of a show! Suitable for kids aged 3 plus.

Bring along a picnic and make an afternoon of it at this vibrant festival of colourful fun! Revellers throw powder at each other of all shades of the rainbow, leaving festival goers coated in colour by the end of the day – wearing old clothing is advised! Plenty of family fun, face painting, henna hand painting, hand art and colour water sponge throwing. The event will take place in the events area near the pond. Look out for the bagpiper who will lead everyone from the children’s play area to the events area at 2.15pm

Mindfulness for families – mini retreat
Ever wondered about the benefits of mindfulness? This mini day retreat is the perfect place to start, suitable for beginners and for parents and kids aged 5 – 11 years. Families will come together to explore mindfulness meditation, with a morning of lovely, relaxing mindful activites and plenty of time for everyone to take their own wee mindful moments too. Flutter by butter fly! Spend the afternoon searching for these beautiful, delicate creatures. Join the Dams to Darnley Country Park Rangers look for local butterflies as part of The Big Butterfly Count nationwide survey – the largest survey of butterflies in the world, helping towards their conservation. Learn to tell all the different varieties from peacocks to small tortoiseshells and many others, counting and logging them as you go. This event is suitable for all ages, booking is required and wearing suitable clothing is advised depending on the weather.

Clarkston Food and Drink Festival
I Love Clarkston are proud to present the second annual Clarkston Food & Drink Festival on August 26th! Following on from the first event last year, the festival will take on a brand new layout with lots of exciting and delicious treats to tantalise the taste buds. The Goods Yard will once again be transformed into our market place full of stalls from local producers and suppliers showing off everything from craft beers to cupcakes, coffee to cocktails! The ‘Healthy Clarkston’ area will focus on all things good for you and you can expect to see health professionals and healthy eating specialists sharing their wisdom and tips. A new demo tent will see a lot of the action, with a number of chefs cooking their favourite recipes and sharing tips with you as they go. Relax in the cafe/bar marquee and take a seat to sample your purchases with a coffee or a glass of wine.
