Meet the Team – Emma Ross, Sales Advisor Posted: 17th January 2017

This week we would like to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Emma Ross – Sales Advisor. Emma is the newest member of our team and she agreed to reply a few nosy questions so we can all get to know her better. 

Tell us a little about yourself and your role at Nicol Estate Agents.

I am the youngest member of the team and have been at Nicol Estate agents for the last few months. I didn’t want to go down the usual route of university, and decided to do a business degree at college and hold down a job at the same time. This has helped me fast track a career and I hope to gain more experience and developed my skills in the business.

We are a very close knit team and our collective goal is to match buyers to the right home for them. So whether I am answering phones, dealing with enquiries or booking viewings, I am always endeavouring to find the right home for the right client.

How did you decide to work in estate agency?

With both parents having had long careers within the property industry, it is not surprising that an interest in this line of work was sparked from a young age. Over the years, I have had an insight into this world and so I jumped at the opportunity, when asked to join the firm not long after finishing my college degree.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

Working within a team, and especially being made to feel part of makes even the quieter working days more enjoyable. There is never a dull moment in the office. Dealing with, and solving, the day to day challenges that can arise while working in any business, gives me a lot of satisfaction when I go home at the end of the day. Whether buying or selling, your home is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. We get to help make what can be a very stressful and daunting time that bit easier. Getting the desired result for all parties gives me a tremendous amount of job satisfaction at the end of the day.

What does a typical day in the office look like for you?

This is a hard one to answer, as there is never a typical day in the office. Although you may be doing the same procedures, each property and each client has different requirements. I will answer the phone, deal with enquiries, go out to viewings and hopefully bring a property and a client together.

How do you relax outside office working hours?

Generally when I’m not in the office I tend to be catching up with friends, whether that is shopping or going to the gym. I have always loved to bake for my family, and that has now extended into baking for my office family too.
